Summer is great. She’s cute. I get it. However, I’m ready to pull out my cardigans and sweaters again.

The temperatures in this part of New Mexico have been in the mid-90s. And if it happens to rain? Pfft. You’ll be welcomed into inescapable mugginess and humidity, and looking for a cooler spot to rest, like water droplets fleeing to the cool surface of a coffee lid. Despite all of this, I wore this long line cardigan in 90-somethin’ degree weather because for the sake of the look: sacrifices needed to be made.

I paired my cardigan with a yellow graphic tee inspired by The Lion King. Disney clearly keeps making live action remakes because basic hoes like myself get excited at the sight of things that remind us of childhood (so much that we spend our money on it). None the less, I love how the cardigan’s print and this particular tone of yellow work together. Yellow is a color I can’t stay away from much, especially in the summer, so I always feel a bit happier anytime that I wear it. And that’s the message, folks — wear clothes that make you happy. If what makes you happy happens to be wearing cardigans in hot weather: stay hydrated.

I’m wearing a Lion King graphic tee and long line cardigan (both from Walmart), Levi’s ribcage pleated cropped jeans in medium wash and Topshop mule sandals.
